FolderBeacon
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
1. Who handles your data
YANLONG CHEN operates FolderBeacon and this website. Privacy requests: [email protected].
2. Local folder data
FolderBeacon uses local folder names, paths, Finder locations, favorites, and recent locations to provide navigation. Files and folder information stay on your Mac and are not uploaded to our servers. You can control macOS permissions in System Settings.
3. Website hosting and download statistics
Cloudflare hosts this website and may process connection information, including IP addresses and request metadata, to deliver and secure it. On actual download clicks, our website sends PostHog a download event and a random browser identifier stored in local storage. The event does not include the download URL, referrer, folder data, or email; IP-based geolocation is disabled in this event. We respect browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals for this tracking. Clear website storage to remove the identifier.
4. Payments and purchase records
When you visit the purchase page, Paddle.js contacts Paddle to estimate local pricing and tax. Paddle processes checkout information such as your email, billing address, payment details, and transaction records under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your full card number. Purchase and licensing services may use your purchase email, order reference, payment status, and license information to fulfill purchases, handle refunds, and provide support.
5. Support, retention, and your choices
If you contact us, we process the information you provide to respond. We retain support and purchase information only as needed to provide the service and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. Do not include sensitive files in support requests. You may contact [email protected] to request access, correction, or deletion of your information, subject to applicable legal requirements.
6. Service providers
Our providers may process data in other countries. Read the Paddle Privacy Policy, Cloudflare Privacy Policy, and PostHog Privacy Policy for their practices.
